21.09.20 /

Today’s splash of fun fact: Vinegar is one of the oldest condiments on earth and is believed to be as old as alcohol brewing. But did you know that the oldest written record of vinegar only dates back to 3,000 BC and it involves not the more common types like cider, cane or balsamic, but the Middle Eastern superstar condiment #DateVinegar? Found in ancient Babylonian scrolls, it was more used as a preservative than as a souring ingredient for cooking. Today, date vinegar is becoming a favourite among professional chefs and home cooks alike for its caramel, balsamic and sweet and sour flavour and aroma. If you love cooking with vinegar, head to #saffronandmore and get one! It’s definitely a must-try!
