It’s almost impossible to walk around bazaars and markets in Iran without coming across a store that sells beautiful Persian rugs. These ornately woven masterpieces are a favourite among homemakers and professional interior designers because of their quality and the attention to detail that goes into them. Persian carpets also represent the rich heritage of Iran’s weaving and textiles industry and in fact, a Persian rug known as ‘Mantes Carpet’ is exhibited as the Louvre Museum in France. Typically made of wool, silk or a combination of both, traditional Persian rugs are handmade and naturally dyed and every thread of these tapestries represent the creativity and the workmanship of Iranian artists.
