Description
These striking Persian Blue Rock Salt crystals are hand-harvested from ancient deposits in the Semnan region of northern Iran. Formed over 260 million years ago, their sapphire-blue hue comes from sylvinite, a rare potassium mineral crystallized in nature’s most unusual way. Packed with 84 trace minerals including magnesium, calcium, zinc and iron, this is one of the rarest salts on earth.
Display whole crystals as a bed for oysters, sushi or cheese, or use as a striking natural garnish on the plate itself. Lower in sodium than ordinary salt, with a clean, crisp flavour that’s less “salty” than sea salt, it delivers all the taste with none of the excess. Totally natural and hand-selected, this is the chef’s gemstone.
How to Store Your Persian Blue Rock Salt:
Your rock salt is all-natural and may react to changes in moisture and humidity.
- Keep in a dry, airtight container, away from direct light.
- Avoid moisture, as blue salt is more delicate than sea salt.
- Store crystals separately from other salts to preserve their vibrant colour and clarity.
